3.1 Concept Report and Design Parameters
3.1.1 Project Overview
The structural plan of Zone Z on the fifth floor involves a fixed reinforced concrete beam running on the horizontal direction 4 and slab panel that intersected axis 3-5 and horizontal axis A-H comprising several functional sections that include service rooms, corridors, and steam rooms up to jacuzzi facility and kids activity areas that exhibit different loading conditions that influence the structural designing model.

The thrust of the loads and the slab panel are transferred as a continuous T-beam system, the element being a shape of a single way spanning element due to the ratio of more than 2.0.

3.4 Floor Plans and Structural Elements
3.4.1 Structural Grid System
Grid Layout:
- Horizontal axis: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5a, 6 (Horizontal separation 3.6 -4.2m)
- vertical axes A, B, C, D, E, Fg, G, H (average distance 4.1-4.9m).
- Location of Zone Z: this is where the grid 3-5 meets A-H.
3.4.2 Primary Structural Elements
Continuous RC Beam (Horizontal Axis 4):
- Span length: 3600mm (centre to centre supports)
- Cross-section: t-psychology skimmer configuration.
- Beam dimensions as illustrated below should be as follows: 500mm deep x 250mm deep web.
- As3600 Clause 8.1.5.2 recommend a maximum practical flange width of 1150mm.
- Effective depth: d = 500 - 25 - 16/2 = 467 mm
Slab Panel (Grid 3-5, A-H):
- Plan dimensions: 3600mm × 8000mm
- Aspect ratio: Ly/Lx = 8000/3600 = 2.22 > 2.0
- Type: short direction one way slab.
- Thickness: 300mm (satisfies L/D = 8000/300 = 26.7 ≤ 28)
- Effective depth: d = 300 - 25 - 12/2 = 269 mm
3.4.3 Support Conditions
- Beam supports: Pinned column (to analyse reinforced)
- Slab supports: continual T- beam on two sides facing.
- Constructing joints Where practicable be least moment.
3.4.4 Structural Integration
The continuous beam on the column is the dominant load-carrying medium that focuses distributed loads on slab panel on both ends of the column and they are then propagated to the column supports. The T- beam system has the best structural performance since it utilises the potential of the slab to carry negative moment zones as a compression flexural flange without affecting the web to the level of shear resistance.
The one-way span slab panel due to the high aspect ratio redistributes loads primarily in a short direction on the supporting beams (Ellobody, 2023). This makes simplicity of analysis and description integration of reinforcing much easier and gives structural adequacy to the outlined loading conditions.
Load Transfer Mechanism:
- Force on the top of a slab.
- Slab thickness Distribution to supporting beams.
- value: Post tributary effects on the load concentrate into the beam.
- Columns and transfer of foundation system.
This structural system has offered an integrated system structure within which loads are effectively distributed, not mentioning that the AS3600 standard on strength, serviceability and durability of the functional components of the different functions in Zone Z have been met.
